Light on the Trail.
During my North Carolina – Tennessee vacation a few weeks back, I made two separate trips to the Roan Highlands for sunsets. On this particular evening, I was making my way through Engine Gap on my way up to Jane Bald, when I noticed the sun getting ready to sink below the summit of Round Bald. I got down on my belly and noticed a nice sunburst reflection coming off a puddle in the Appalachian Trail. Taking the camera off the tripod and setting it directly on the ground was the only way I was going to be able to capture the scene, so I leveled it the best I could with a few flat stones and snapped off a few shots before heading on up to Jane Bald for my sunset.
