Wildlife Drawing & Painting Demonstration

On Saturday, October 22, Asheville artist Tess Darling will be at Grovewood Gallery demonstrating some of the drawing and painting techniques that she applies to her popular Fauna series - a collection of paintings portraying North American wildlife. Tess travels to local and national parks to photograph animals in their natural environment. After careful observation and using her images as references, Tess draws to emphasize the different species’ anatomical formation and movement. Her finished pieces portray a visual and conceptual coexistence between the human construct and animal subject.
