A:
No. Digital issues can only be accessed if your subscription includes digital access.

_
Q: How do I subscribe to the digital edition of Blue Ridge Country?
A:
You can purchase a print subscription that includes digital access or a digital only subscription by visiting blueridgecountry.com/subscribe, by calling customer service at 800-548-1672 or by sending in a subscription postcard from the printed magazine.
_

Q: What devices can be used to read the digital edition?
A:
The web-based digital edition can be read on any computer, tablet or smartphone. If you have an Apple iPad or iPhone, we also offer a native iOS app available through the Apple App Store.

_
Q: Are other apps supported, such as Android or Kindle?
A:
At this time the iOS app is the only app available. However, the web-based version is accessible on any device with a web browser and active internet connection, including all leading tablet and smart phone devices.
_

Q: How can I access the digital edition?
A:
If your active paid subscription includes digital access, you can log in using the email address associated with your account.

• In the web-based version, a screen prompting you to log in will appear automatically when you view individual issues.

• In the iOS app, you can log in using the drop down menu located in the upper left corner.

_
Q: What is the difference between the Web-based digital edition and the downloaded iOS app digital edition?
A:
The web-based version is delivered to your device through your browser via an active internet connection. The iOS app can be downloaded to your Apple device and allows for offline viewing of individually downloaded issues.

_

Q: What should I do if the web-based version will not load?
A:
First, try refreshing your browser window. If that fails to work, check to see if you have an ad blocker or firewall installed that prevents HTML animations from loading in your browser. If you do, configure it to allow animations to load.

_
Q: Do I have to be online to read a digital edition of Blue Ridge Country?
A:
To view the web-based version, yes. To view issues inside the iOS app, no, although an internet connection is required to download issues for offline reading at a later time, and for some added features, such as online extras.

_

Q:How do I download issues for offline reading? In the iOS app, click "download" next to the issue you wish to save to your device, and allow the issue to download completely before closing the app.
A: high-speed internet connection is recommended when downloading an issue or viewing the web-based digital edition.

_
Q: Why won't my issue download?
A
: We recommend using a stable high-speed internet connection whenever you download an issue. Timing out for any reason might require you to start the download over again.

_
Q: Can I make the page larger / easier to read?
A:
YES. In the iOS app version, you can pinch to zoom on the page, just as you would a photo.

On the web-based digital edition you can zoom in on photos or text by clicking inside a page and using the Zoom Controls** to adjust the amount of magnification. Additionally, you can enlarge the entire issue by clicking the Fullscreen Mode Icon* in the upper right menu (highly recommended for the optimal reading experience.)

*Fullscreen Mode Icon: web-based-enlarge        **Zoom Controls: web-based-zoom-controls

Q: My iOS app keeps crashing. What can I do?
A:
While we thoroughly test every update to apps, occasionally we still receive reports of some users experiencing crashing and download problems. For best performance, please shut down any other apps running in the background. If problems persist, please force-quit the app, then re-open it. If you're still having trouble, try turning your device off and then turning it back on. Finally, if the app continues to crash, try deleting and re-installing the app from the Apple App Store. If none of these solutions work, please send us a note, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
