Thursday Jams Concert Series with The Hackensaw Boys
to
Abingdon Market Pavilion 100 Remsburg Drive, Abingdon, Virginia 24210
With feet firmly planted in the old-time song tradition, hands soiled by the dirt of rock n’ roll and eyes fixed steadily on the future of real country music, the Hackensaw Boys are among the most exciting groups charting new territory in today’s diverse Americana music scene. Everybody sings a bit of lead, everybody sings a bit of harmony and most members know when to shut up. Instrumentation includes banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, upright bass, charismo (a home-made tin can contraption) and the occasional trap kit.
“There’s one thing you can count on at a Hackensaw Boys show—nobody will be standing still. The band’s rowdy old-time sound has been making crowds move for more than a decade. It’s a hybrid of Appalachian front porch simplicity delivered with edgy punk rock power.” Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine
This event is free to the public. Food and Beverages will be for sale. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. No coolers allowed. No outside alcohol allowed.
