The 50th Annual Pioneer Days

Great homecoming style festival celebrating 50 years! Featuring bluegrass music, a fireman's parade, a grand parade, food concessions, old fashioned games, and demonstrations. The truck and tractor pull returns on Saturday at 2 pm at Stillwell Park while the Grand parade is Saturday at 1:30 in the afternoon. Music this features the Powell Family Band plus one of the region's favorite, Black Mountain Bluegrass Boys. You'll also find the Opera House full of authentic mountains arts and crafts, a block long flea market, horseshoe pitching, demonstrations, and everyone's favorite - the antique car show. The Gate City Gunslingers return and bring all their fun along with them.
