Spring Things at Catawba
to
Catawba Community Center 4965 Catawba Creek Road, Catawba, Virginia 24070
Spring Things is an early introduction to the regular Catawba Valley Farmers Market (CVFM) season which begins on May 12. Although market vendors won't have homegrown tomatoes or green beans at this early event, they do expect to have spring onions, lettuces & other greens, radishes, green garlic, pickles, pepper jelly, breads, cookies, cakes, bacon & other pork products, grass-fed beef, eggs, bath & beauty products, hanging baskets, tomato/vegetable plants, herbs, dried lavender, granola, & a variety of quality arts and crafts.
Craft items include jewelry, knitted clothing, barnwood-framed photos, gourd bird houses, note cards, scented candles, wooden lamps and writing pens, hand-spun yarns, primitive signs, stained glass, herbal & goat-milk soaps and lotions, baby clothes, hand-sewn placemats with matching napkins, quilts, and old-fashioned bonnets for adults and children.
All of the items are made or grown LOCALLY! Come on out on Saturday, April 30, between 9 AM & 3 PM, to the Catawba Community Center. Remember that Mother's Day is May 8, so this will be a great opportunity to buy some unique gifts and fresh, locally-grown foods.
The CVFM accepts SNAP/EBT (& even doubles the token value for purchase of fruits and vegetables), and accepts debit cards. Some vendors do accept credit/debit card payments, although many accept only cash.
