RockFest at Emerald Village

Celebrate RockFest at Emerald Village, near Little Switzerland, the home of 12 historic mines! Listen to a Swiss Alphorn or enjoy live music from the best groups in the area! Delicious food, ice cream & picnic tables will be available!

Listen to a short geology talk or take a guided hike to a hidden mine! Children will enjoy the FREE Kid's Treasure Hunt. Watch rescue personnel rappel from the mine cliffs. Noted historian Lowell Presnell (“Mines, Miners, and Minerals of Western North Carolina”) shares true stories of mining in our area. Mine tours, gem mining, gold panning, and mineral collecting will be available for a fee on both days. Visit the free multi-level Discovery Mill exhibits!

Saturday from 6 to 8 enjoy a free bluegrass concert by the “Typical Mountain Boys”! Food & picnic tables will be available. Then take in the special Black Light Mine Tour at 8:30 PM ($15 Adults/$10 Students).
