Mt. Jefferson 60th Birthday and NC State Parks 100th Birthday Celebration

While the golden orange and yellow leaves decorate the mountain’s trees, we pause for a moment to celebrate two great anniversaries in North Carolina. First, in 1916 North Carolina State Parks were established. Then in October of 1956, Mt. Jefferson State Park was designated and opened to the public. Both anniversaries are good reasons to celebrate and reflect. Make your way up to the picnic area on Mt. Jefferson, have some birthday cake, listen to a few stories, make a craft, or join-in on a nature hike. This free event is open for all ages.
