Mountain Makins is a weekend folk life festival celebrating the traditions of Appalachia through music, dance, fine art, juried crafts, storytelling, demonstrations, regional authors, childrens activities, food and more.
2021 Festival is October 23-24!
The Festival is housed in and around Rose Center on the 4th weekend of October, and 1892 school building, which now serves Morristown,Tennessee as a cultural arts center and historical museum. The Festival was named by the Southest Tourism Society as a "Top Twenty Event in the Southeast" for October 2008 & 2011, and was voted best Festival in East Tennessee by readers of Tennessee Magazine. All proceeds support Rose Center and its many arts, historic and educational programs.
