Mountain Crossings' Thru Hiker Kick Off Party

Join us for our Annual Thru Hiker Season Kick Off Party! Each year as thru hikers begin to flock out of the forest, we host a party with live music, food, fun for the whole family, a gear raffle and demonstrations by outdoor product companies.

This year's fun includes good ol' bluegrass pickin' from 1pm to 5pm, a s’mores station and hotdogs on the grill, face painting and hair wrapping for the kiddos.

We will hold a gear raffle benefitting the A.T. History Project and their efforts to document the building of the Appalachian Trail in connection to the Civilian Conservation Corps in Union County. Gear will include anything from daypacks, hydropacks, clothing, water bottles, cookware and much, much more. Raffle Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at Mountain Crossings or on the day of the event. It is not necessary to be present to win, however, you must retrieve your winnings from Mountain Crossings at a later time.

Come join Mountain Crossing at the historic Walasi-Yi Center for a day of reveling in the mountains and celebrating the vibrant culture of the Appalachian Trail!
