John McCutcheon - Christmas in the Trenches
to
International Storytelling Center 116 West Main Street, Jonesborough, Tennessee 37659
Folk musician John McCutcheon, hailed as “one of our country’s best songwriters” by Pete Seeger and the “most impressive instrumentalist I’ve ever heard” by Johnny Cash, will perform two December concerts in Jonesborough for the International Storytelling Center.
An award-winning recording artist and National Storytelling Festival favorite, John McCutcheon’s storytelling style is often compared to Will Rogers and Garrison Keillor. Few people communicate with the versatility, charm, wit or pure talent of McCutcheon, who is a recipient of seven Grammy nominations.
These seasonal shows will feature McCutcheon’s recording “Christmas in the Trenches” as this year marks the 100 year anniversary of the WWI truce that the song commemorates.
Both shows will take place Thursday, December 11, in the Mary B. Martin Storytelling Hall on ISC’s downtown campus, one at 3:00 pm and the other at 7:30 pm. Tickets are just $20 and are expected to sell out quickly. Call 423-913-1276 to reserve your tickets.
