Historic Old Southwest Parlor Tour
to
Alexander Gish House 641 Walnut Ave. SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24016
For more than thirty years, Historic Old Southwest has opened its doors and welcomed the public into their homes. Individuals take the tour for many different reasons. Some kick off the holiday season and get into the spirit while others like to see how these properties have been decorated as well renovated and transformed. Whatever the reason, the neighbors in Old Southwest enjoy sharing a little piece of history and the holiday season with people from all over! For more information about Old Southwest, please visit:www.oldsouthwest.org and we're on Facebook too- www.facebook.com/historicoldsouthwest
This event is Old Southwest, Inc.'s only major fund raiser and all money raised goes directly back into the neighborhood towards not only the maintenance and upkeep of the Alexander/Gish House, but towards other events such as "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" where volunteers come out in the spring and paint and landscape a residents home in Old Southwest who is either physically or financially unable to perform the work themselves.
We also use the funds towards our annual St. Patrick's Day Parade float, the annual Yard Sale, Etc., the annual National Night Out event, and the annual Citizens Appreciation event.
