Forest Festival Day

More than 80 traditional craftsmen, exhibitors, forestry students, and entertainers gather at the Cradle of Forestry to celebrate our forests and forest heritage. Wood carvers, a weaver, and others demonstrate their craft. Guests can make a tree cookie with a cross cut saw to take home. Several forestry schools compete for a trophy in the 21th Annual John G. Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen’s Meet, a lumberjack competition, organized by Haywood Community College, Clyde, NC.
