Exploring the New Frontier

This hike will take us from the well traveled territory of the Park's Welcome Center into the newly built trails within the Tygart State Forest. We will start our venture into the beautiful Cave Branch Valley, a karst valley that feeds into the Park's Bat Cave. From this point we will trek to a ridge top trail loop that should provide us some scenic views above the Bone Hole Valley, which is also home to a large cave entrance. We will hike back along the Kiser Hollow Trail to the Welcome Center. The total hike will be approximately 9 miles long on moderately difficult terrain.
