Blowing Rock Art & History Museum 159 Chestnut Street, Blowing Rock, North Carolina 28605
The exhibit celebrates the lives of five influential women and their contributions to the High Country over the span of one hundred years:
Emily Prudden, founder of a school for mountain children after the Civil War
Bertha Cone, widow of Moses Cone, who sustained their home after his death for 35+ years
Mary Martin Sloop, founder of Crossnore School
Lucy Morgan, founder of the Penland School of Crafts
Vera Lachmann, Holocaust survivor and founder of Camp Catawba for Boys
