Woodburn House Museum 130 History Lane, Pendleton, South Carolina
The roots of African-Americans in the upstate of South Carolina are explored at this special event through demonstrations, special readings and re-enactments. A highlight of the day is a visit to a cabin representing the life of Jane Edna Hunter who was born of former slaves at Woodburn and later founded the national Phylis Wheatley Society dedicated to improving the lives of African-American women.
