Winter Bird Hike
Looking for a way to spend quality time with your Valentine? Hermit thrushes, cedar waxwings, American goldfinches and brown creepers are among the many species of birds that spend the winter at Lake James. Ranger Jamie Cameron will be on hand to lead the hike, spot and identify birds along the way. The hike will take place on the 2.25-mile Fox Den Loop Trail. Dress appropriately for the weather and meet at the Catawba River Area breezeway at 10 a.m.
