Asheville’s Southern Appalachian Restaurant, Supper Club and Moonshine Bar will be featuring Female Magician of the Decade, Ariann Black performing her Whispers in the Night, Séance Show. Guests of this ticked magical show will be treated to a Halloween themed cocktail reception and the mesmerizing powers of Las Vegas’ renown magician Ariann Black. Ms. Black has toured the world and performed onstage with Penn & Teller, Gallagher and at private events with the likes of dj Tiesto and Maroon 5. Her two shows in Asheville will provide the audience with the power of magic as entertainment and communication with the dead. While she insists her powers are just for entertainment purposes and no greater than that of a super intuitive police detective, many attribute her ability to psychic or extrasensory perception.

ABOUT ARIANN BLACK

Ariann has played most of the big casino’s in her career. She has also appeared on The Greater Magic of Las Vegas on Fox Family, Card Sharks on ABC, The Magical World of Beto Carriro with World Productions in Brazil as the co-host, Circus Magic on Italian television, Lance Burton’s Guerilla Magic on Animal Planet, The Magic of Vegas on Art-A Television and in two separate BBC documentaries. Ariann’s love of magic began at an early age and despite choosing a professional that is one of the most challenging in show business. Ariann’s successes have been noticed on numerous continents, stages and the silver screen for a lifetime. One measure of her success was being repeatedly selected by her peers as the Female Magician of the Decade. Ariann is not one to rest on her successes her plans for the future are bright and we hope her love of magic will continue for some time to come. She is in the running for a 2016 television pilot.

ABOUT SÉANCES

Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary: séance (sé·ance): a meeting in which a spiritualist attempts to communicate with the spirits of the dead; an attempt to communicate with spirits. In 1863 one of the best-known series of séances conducted in North America were those of Mary Todd Lincoln who wished to contact her son William after his death. She organized Spiritualist séances in the White House, which were attended by her husband, President Abraham Lincoln, and other prominent members of society. Also Harry Houdini, following the death of his mother, reached out to multiple mediums hoping to find a way to communicate with her. He soon discovered that these so-called mediums were conmen and charlatans and went on a mission to expose these people as frauds.

In today’s world séances are spiritual shows meant to entertain. The element of mystery and fear of the unknown compel us to continually ask the question, “What happens when we pass on?”. Séances give people a voyeuristic look into the other side. Spirits communicate with the living as the lights dim and the ghosts come out to play. Questions will be answered as our medium reaches out from this plane of existence to the other side, bridging the distance between our world and theirs. Listen closely to the stories of the ghosts who haunt our medium every day as they come to her with messages from beyond. Watch as objects mysteriously move and make noises as if guided by a ghostly hand. The love we once thought lost will come back to use through the lost art of the séance.

THE IMMERSION

Inside the sumptuously decorated and purely candlelit room guests will experience a gothic séance framed by historical personages and loved ones who have gone before us.   With the guidance of internationally renowned magician and medium Ariann Black and her assistant Madame Salma, guests will experience other worldliness and an eerie consciousness of whispers, apparitions and the unexplainable.

In Spiritualism, the ‘gifted’ individual not only becomes subject to a ‘spirit control’, but the spirit control might then itself mediate the ghosts of yet more people until a séance can become quite crowded.

This is an immersive experience that recalls the past into the presence and it is pure entertainment not found elsewhere.  To end the evening pianist extraordinaire Michael Anderson will perform Gothic stream-of-consciousness honkey tonk piano while guest settle and connect with one another over the evening’s experience and have an opportunity to meet and greet the international Magician Ariann Black.

There are two seat types are available; VIP seating at the séance table and seating along side on church benches viewing the séance table.  While the direct experiences will be different all guests will find themselves in the embrace of Whispers in the Night.

STYLE AND DRESS

This is a uniquely designed experience with historical relevance and entertainment.  To enhance the experience and to convey an authentic atmosphere we ask our guests to dress more formally than usual AND, OR, as much as possible in the style of the 1920′ and 1930’s.
