Last Friday's incredible sky after sunset on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Cherokee, NC. The skies were clearing after rain showers, allowing for a dazzling display of evening color. Feel free to share, and you can see more at Solitary Traveler Photography © 2016 Robert Stephens, All Rights Reserved.

I was out shooting some daffodils at a neighbors farm near Ranger, GA the other day trying to catch the late evening sun shining on the flowers. I had my back to the sun and got several decent shots and as the light was fading, I turned around to gather my stuff and this magical sight appeared.

Sometimes it takes years to get the photo you are after of a very special place. Yesterday morning I got out very early and drove down to Valle Crucis. This little farmhouse and field have always been so beautiful to me and yesterday everything was just perfect to get my long awaited shot! From Sallie J. Woodring Photography. — with Marylu Scarborough Adams.

Look Up - FEEL FREE TO SHARE!During the late winter and early spring months, the Milky Way rises low in the sky in the early morning hours. Later in the year, it rises higher and higher throughout the summer months until it is almost directly above our heads. Creating a Milky Way panorama is virtually impossible in the summer months, making this time of year the perfect period of time to create an image like this. To give this image scale (taken from the Hawksbill summit), the peak of Table Rock sits just below the Galactic Core on the right side of the image and the lights of Morganton stretch out below the entire expanse of the Milky Way arch.Connect with me!Website: www.cathyandersonphotography.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/CathyAndersonPhotoInstagram: http://instagram.com/cathyandersonphotoTwitter: http://twitter.com/cathyanderson27 (@cathyanderson27)Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/p…/125802685@N03/(cathyandersonphoto)500px: http://500px.com/CathyAndersonGoogle+: https://plus.google.com/+CathyAndersonPhotographyYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/CathyAndersonPhotography
