Haven't had very much in the way of thunderstorms this summer in the Roanoke Valley Virginia so I thought I would share my favorite one I got from last summer.... Hopefully I will catch a storm like this one before the end of summer this year......

I got this shot soon after a storm came through the subtle light across the scene caught my attention.

This is "Peeling Away the Layers" and represents one of my favorite spots at Hawksbill Mountain for photographs. I managed to get this shot just before the sun came over the ridge to the right.

Return to Wisemans View. On my third attempt to catch a sunrise over at Wisemans View, overlooking the Linville Gorge in North Carolina, I was greeted with the same predawn cloudless sky that I had on my first to attempts. I figured I might as well try and get somewhat of a different composition, so I set up just behind the bench above the two overlooks. I like the way it turned out.
