Photographer Laura Moul spent a month at West Virginia's Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. This is the third installation of a journal of her stay appearing in our Word & Image blogs...
May 15 to 21, 2010.
As resident photographer at the refuge, my work last month was shared with Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge for their use in their educational programs. On Saturday, May 15, I conducted another program, “Introduction to Digital Photography for Point and Shooters."
The community comes out and supports these programs too. Impression: Many retirees settle in CV after vacationing here. This week I also had five photographers from three states come to participate in the Professional Photographers of America Super Monday program I had titled “Marketing Fine Art Photography."
On the 18th, I drove the four hours to go home for a visit. As soon as I unloaded, I took a nap in my bed. Little things like your own bed and a regular shower are appreciated more! I didn’t have to worry about running out of water. It was great to see my husband. My cat Maggie ignored me at first, then she just stared and stared at me. Being gone for 18 days was too long – so I have decided not to do that again.
