Chris Stevenson, Stained Glass Artist
After two tries in other fields, Chris Stevenson found her love and means of making a living in stained glass art.
“We reinvent ourselves all of the time,” Stevenson says. “This is my third career but I’ve been in it the longest. It’s my passion.”
Her passion has led to a 20-year career, teaching classes, providing stained glass windows for 12 subdivisions in North Carolina and an instructional book, “Creative Stained Glass,” which includes 27 projects, all from her original designs.
After two decades of reveling in her craft, Stevenson still finds inspiration in everyday life in the mountains and in the creative community in which she lives.
“We moved to the mountains nine years ago,” she says. “This is a very artsy area, which is perfect. Asheville is a wonderful place.”
