The Farm Cabins and Cottages
Each cabin has a covered porch that extends the living space into the outdoors.
Eight miles out of Asheville, families and couples find a dreamy retreat where the host couple “went overboard on the sheets.”
Sitting beside each fireplace at The Farm Cabins and Cottages is a Mason jar full of fire-starter squares. On each jar is a homespun story looking back upon a time when children caught fireflies on summer nights and put them in jars to watch their glow all night.
And now, when guests spend evenings outside the luxury cabin or cottage they reserved on rolling farm near Asheville, N.C., their children flit around the grounds, scooping fireflies out of the air and marveling at soft lights that don’t come from a digital device.
“So many people that come here, their children are just so excited to see the fireflies,” Beverly Gottfried says. Bev and her husband Myron own The Farm Cabins and Cottages and take great delight in watching guests experience the farm’s simple pleasures while staying in luxurious quarters that belie their rustic setting.
