Creeks are at full flow as hikers have to take off their boots and wade instead of rock-hop. Blossoms pop out of dark soil and through thick brown leaf cover to reach for the sun. Songbirds flit and fly, screech and cry with the excitement of the most alive season in the mountains . . . spring at last.
