The south end of the Blue Ridge Parkway runs into the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The 252 miles of the parkway in North Carolina contains the highest point on the Parkway (Richland Balsam Mountain, MP 431) and the last piece of the parkway to be built (Linn Cove Viaduct, MP 304.4). All but one of the parkway’s tunnels are in North Carolina.
