Do you own a National Park Passport Stamp Book? You’ll want to bring it along as Liz takes you on an adventure to see how many stamps we can get in one day. Step back in time and experience farm life with the Bradley family and their colonial neighbors. The year is 1771 and the times, they are a changing as they’re on the brink of the Revolutionary War. We’ll have lunch along the river at Turkey Run Park. We’ll head next door to the George Washington Memorial Parkway Headquarters and fill up a few pages with stamps. Then we’ll cross the bridge and head to the Clara Barton National Historic Site. Clara Barton’s home was a place of service. It was her house, but she used it as headquarters, warehouse and living quarters for the American Red Cross. We’ll end the day with dinner at Mojitos & Tapas, my favorite Cuban restaurant this side of DC. Stamps will be somewhat contingent on infamous DC traffic, although we’re within 10 miles of all the locations. Bring a bag lunch and money for dinner. $25 members/$30 non-members. Cost includes all entrance fees, transportation and guide’s fees. Must RSVP before April 19.
