Life of a Firewatcher
Pinnacle Knob Fire Tower 7351 Highway 90, Corbin, Kentucky 40701
The Pinnacle Knob Fire Tower was constructed in 1937 by the US Forest Serive. The "firewatchers" would live in the cabin on top of the tower during fire seasons. The cabin was restored in 2008 and much care was taken to maintain the tower's authenticity. The hike to the tower is about one mile and strenuous in sections.
