A haunted weekend in Mercer County
to
Lake Shawnee 470 Matoaka Road , Rock, West Virginia
You don't want to miss the chance to explore two of the most haunted places in southern West Virginia! First, visit Lake Shawnee's Abandoned Amusement Park on Friday night. The park shut down in 1966 and has been abandoned ever since. Stories of eerie happenings and past troubles make this place a favorite with paranormal groups and those who like a good scare. The fun starts on Friday at 8 p.m.-midnight. For more information, visit http://www.lakeshawneeevents.com/ or visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/lakeshawnee2012.
Lake Shawnee is located at the intersection of U.S. Route 19 and county route 10, northwest of Princeton, WV.
Then, on Saturday evening travel to Bramwell, the home of haunted Victorian mansions from the early1900s. Learn about the spirits and their lives, enjoy food and music. For one ticket price, you can visit both places in one weekend. A portion of the proceeds will go to the non-profit organization Children's Home Society of West Virginia. The night starts at 5 p.m. with music and the walk is from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.visitbramwell.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/townofbramwell.
