A great two-day class for holiday handmade giving, this introduction to woodcarving class will teach students the basics of how to make beautiful and useful wooden butter knives, spatulas and spoons from common Appalachian woods.
The class will cover wood selection, design, the safe and effective use of axes, and knife skills. Tools will be provided for use during the course. Carving and hook knives are also available for purchase at the shop. Carving blanks will be included in the cost of the course, and additional blanks can be purchased for further practice at home.
Registration limited to 10 people.
$80 per person; Class fees include two nights of instruction and plenty of carving blanks.
