"Baptizing Hole under the Milky Way"It's called "the Baptizing Hole" but I haven't actually seen a baptism there since I was a kid. I've photographed the place under many weather and lighting conditions, so I thought I'd photograph it under the Milky Way (Monongahela National Forest, West Virginia).

Light on the Trail.During my North Carolina - Tennessee vacation a few weeks back, I made two separate trips to the Roan Highlands for sunsets. On this particular evening, I was making my way through Engine Gap on my way up to Jane Bald, when I noticed the sun getting ready to sink below the summit of Round Bald. I got down on my belly and noticed a nice sunburst reflection coming off a puddle in the Appalachian Trail. Taking the camera off the tripod and setting it directly on the ground was the only way I was going to be able to capture the scene, so I leveled it the best I could with a few flat stones and snapped off a few shots before heading on up to Jane Bald for my sunset. If you like this image then feel free to share and if you wish, give my photography page a "Like". Thanks for looking!
