Fort Frederick State Park in Big Pool celebrates the 250th birthday of the largest colonial stone fort built and only remaining French and Indian War stone fort. The 1,900-square-foot Hagerstown Aviation Museum has opened on the second floor of the Discovery Center and features 75 years of the region’s aviation history including photographs, airplane wings and an interactive cockpit display. 301/733-7604, www.hagerstownaviationmuseum.org.
