Roanoke's Fireworks on the Fourth

Celebrate an evening of red, white and boom with the City of Roanoke's annual fireworks show at River's Edge Sports Complex. This year's fireworks show is presented by the City of Roanoke, The Roanoke Times, WDBJ7, and Downtown Roanoke, Inc. Music before the show will be provided by 94.9 Star Country and Winds of the Blue Ridge. Fireworks will launch from the Reserve Avenue side of the park, and viewing of this year's show will take place on the Wiley Drive ball fields at River's Edge Sports Complex. All spectators are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Food trucks will also be on-site.With the road closures of Wiley Drive and Reserve Avenue for the event, spectators are encouraged to take advantage of parking lot shuttles that will depart from the Church Avenue Garage and Virginia Western Community College beginning at 7 p.m. Those planning to park at Virginia Western should park in the lot closest to Colonial Avenue and McNeil Drive.Jefferson Street will also be closed at Walnut Avenue starting a 9 p.m. It will re-open after the fireworks show concludes.
