Springtime in Virginia is stunningly beautiful. It’s the ideal time to savor the countryside of rural Rockbridge County, the charm of historical Lexington and the work of two dozen artists and 11 working art studios on the popular Lexington Rockbridge Studio Tour.
The event adds new studios and artists each year as well as offering new work by returning studio hosts and guests. Opening his Natural Bridge studio for the first time is artist Mark Cline, nationally known for his foam and fiberglass figures and fantasy characters which populate theme parks, restaurants, museums across America.
In addition to Cline’s work and Enchanted Castle studio visit, the tour will feature new media of art bookbinding, wearable art and graphic art floor cloths.
Other art forms include found object assemblages, photography, mixed media, stone and clay sculpture, paintings and jewelry and stained-glass design.
There will be “tastings” at all studios, many will offer samplings from Lexington’s premier restaurants, gourmet shops and caterers.
