Jackson Park Concert Series Featuring:
The Billy Crawford Band-Blues Music
Friday, August 29, 2014
1st Street, NW
Pulaski, VA 24301
The Bristol-based Billy Crawford Band includes some of that region’s finest blues men. The fire is still burning blue from Crawford’s Guitar, as he rips through blues, ballads, rock, surf – even New Orleans-style.
Underpinning it all is a band with plenty of energy and mastery of dynamics. Go to thebillycrawfordband.com to hear and see more and find out when the band is playing in your town. The common denominator in all of this is Billy Crawford – raised playing bass in church, then gaining an early hard-rock pedigree on electric guitar. But for the past three decades, he has turned his six-string action toward the blues.
Along for the ride with Crawford are singer/guitarist Rex Boggs, sax man Jay Corder, bassist Robert McClain, drummer Keith Chinault and on occassion, Hammond B3 player Jacob Tipton. They’ll bring you a smoking blues show.
The concert series is co-sponsored by the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley and the Town of Pulaski. The concerts are held in Jackson Park located across from the municipal building from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The concerts are free and open to the public. Please bring your lawn chair or blanket. Donna Jones/ Main Street Bistro will be providing concessions with her great homemade food. Pulaski Theatre is the rain location for the concert series, times remain the same.
Please call the 540-980-7363 for additional information.
See you there.
