Join Chip Morgan, Jay Shaner, Dan Beiker and David Spears for our annual Spring Wildflower Symposium Friday exploratory. By popular demand, we will return to Elliott Knob! We will climb on Devonian and Mississippian sandstones up to 4447’ where spectacular blooms persist into the late spring. Painted Trillium is the featured bloom. Not to be outdone we’ll also look for Yellow Mandarin, Red Trillium, Yellow Clintonia, Oak Fern, Mountain Wood Fern just to name a few. Dan Beiker will join us to help identify the diverse bird population that exists in this area. The six mile walk is moderate-difficult, with a 2000’ elevation change, but well worth the effort. This trip will fill up so reserve your spot early. $15 members, $20 nonmembers.
