HOME DAIRY WORKSHOP

Love butter, yogurt and mozzarella cheese? Want to learn how to make such dairy staples and more, all in the comfort of your own home? Let’s dabble in all things dairy together! In this class students will learn the basics of crafting homemade dairy products. from equipment and ingredients (including a look at pasteurization and homogenization), to hygiene and technique, we’ll examine the in’s and out’s of what it takes to create delicious homemade dairy goods. Students will receive hand’s on instruction and literature for making butter,yogurt and mozzarella cheese. Samples will be available to taste and take home.
Ashley English is the author of seven books, including four books in The Homemade Living Series. She has earned degrees in holistic nutrition and sociology and has worked over the years with a number of nonprofit organizations committed to social and agricultural issues. Ashley also does a good deal of freelance writing and maintains a column for the quarterly publication Taproot and served as a longtime contributing editor for the popular blog Design*Sponge. She lives in Candler, NC with her husband, their young son, and a menagerie of animals where she blogs about her adventures in homesteading and beyond at Small Measure.
