3rd Annual Montford Park Players Masquerade Ball to be held November 16.
The Montford Park Players continue to bring great entertainment to Asheville with a glimpse into the world of William Shakespeare and now they offer a chance to experience the fun and excitement of a Grand Masquerade Ball with all the flair of Venice. Local band favorite Fritz Beer and the Crooked Beat will provide the dancing atmosphere with music ranging from the ‘60’s to present day.
An evening of fun wouldn’t be complete without refreshments and all Ball goers will be treated to Beer, Wine and hors d’ oeuvres throughout the evening; and all included in the ticket price. No need to worry about masks to join in the fun. Special decorated Venetian style masks will be available to wear during the evening and then keep as souvenirs. They can be ordered in advance with thickets or purchased at the door. Special Patron Table tickets will be available this year that will include such amenities as unique Venetian Masks, personal service and more.
Closing out a season of 42 years of free Shakespeare in the Park, the Montford Park Players are embarking on a new season and with it a challenge of many additions including: upgrading the stage, making seating more handicap accessible and the basic monetary needs of producing next year’s plays.
This year’s Masquerade Ball gives the public a means to help the Montford Park Players raise funds to meet those needs and have a great time while helping. In addition to the Ball, a special silent Auction will take place with some great items as, Special Tickets to Disneyworld and a Medieval-Renaissance Dinner for 8 pared with beer and wines along with costumed entertainment.
The newly renovated Masonic Temple, 80 Broadway downtown Asheville, will provide the backdrop for the evening. The time of the Ball is 7:00 – 10:00 PM on Saturday, November 14. Doors will open at 6:00 PM to preview silent auction items. Tickets are $45 per person, Venetian Masks $15, and Patron Table Ticket $100 per person.
