The recent book of that title, featuring essays by Charles Maynard and photography by Jerry Greer, celebrates “the world’s oldest mountains” in about 200 pages of coffee-table expansiveness, stunning photos and poignant essays.
Jerry Greer’s internationally acclaimed photography has been published in magazines, calendars and seven books, of which “Blue Ridge: Ancient and Majestic” (Mountain Trail Press) is the latest. He lives in Johnson City, Tenn., with his wife Abbey and their daughter Serén. Photos here are among the scores – many as large as 12 x 18 inches – in the book.
The Fool in the Woods, aka Blue Ridge Country editor in chief Kurt Rheinheimer, is back with more great woodland information and secrets, this time reporting on how Virginia's Devil's Marbleyard was formed.
